  • Comfort reading and writing business emails in English
  • Basic arithmetic to work out a client's costs, such as overtime or hours lost

What you'll be able to do

  • Explain what changes between a small purchase and a complex contract: the stakes and the uncertainty
  • Describe what a customer actually buys as an outcome rather than the product shipped
  • Separate leads from real opportunities and prioritise a pipeline on more than deal value
  • Run a discovery that observes the client's process and asks why it works as it does
  • Trace a stated objection such as 'too expensive' back to its root cause before discussing price
  • Build personalised LinkedIn prospecting for a defined segment instead of generic connection pitches
  • Maintain CRM records with stage, history, open questions and a dated next step
  • Map buyers, procurement, IT and legal stakeholders in an enterprise deal across several countries

Internship agreement

With this course, an intern could support a sales or client-success team by qualifying inbound leads, researching target companies and booking first calls. Other possible tasks include preparing discovery notes and client briefings, keeping CRM records and next steps up to date, and building LinkedIn prospecting lists for a new segment. The learner finds the host company, and the school issues the internship agreement.

The internship can run at the same time as the course, within the 180 days of access.

Frequently asked questions

What job does the Sales Techniques course prepare me for, and does it give me a sales certification?

The Sales Techniques course prepares you for entry roles described in the materials, such as sales development representative (SDR), who qualifies inbound interest and books meetings, or junior account manager. You receive a certificate of completion, verifiable with a QR code. It is not one of the third-party sales credentials covered in the final module. That module shows how to compare those credentials by what they actually verify, not by what they cost.

What could I do during the internship with this course?

Typical tasks match the modules. You could respond to inbound leads, research companies and ask qualification questions. You could also prepare client briefings, document deals in the CRM with dated next steps, and build LinkedIn prospecting for a target segment. You find and bring the host company yourself. The school issues the internship agreement and its annex, and the company usually signs electronically within one to two working days.

Which methods and tools does the course cover?

The course covers consultative selling, lead and opportunity qualification, pipeline prioritisation, discovery and stakeholder mapping, and root-cause analysis of objections. It also covers social selling on LinkedIn, CRM pipeline management with AI-assisted tools, and enterprise cross-border selling. For the CRM exercises, a free tier is enough to learn records, the deal board and basic reporting. Some demonstrated features need a paid version, so you will follow those rather than reproduce them.

Do I need to be a natural talker or a pushy closer to work in sales?

No. The course argues that a big contract pushed through at quarter end can fail when the client never uses what was bought. It also shows that the difference between two sellers with the same CRM is discipline, not talent. Sales Techniques teaches a method of qualification, discovery, root-cause analysis and careful record-keeping that a beginner can learn and practise.
