Internship agreement

With this course, an intern could support a beauty salon or spa at reception, handling bookings across phone, online and walk-in channels and preparing client consultations. Under supervision, they could also assist with skin, make-up, tanning, hair-removal or nail services, apply sanitation protocols and help advise clients on retail products such as sunscreens.

The internship can run at the same time as the course, within the 180 days of access.

Frequently asked questions

What role does the Wellness and Beauty course prepare me for, and what does it not cover?

The Wellness and Beauty course prepares you for work as a junior beauty therapist or salon front-desk professional across skin, make-up, tanning, hair, hair removal and nails. It does not license you to diagnose or treat medical conditions, which fall outside a beauty therapist's scope of practice. Micropigmentation (permanent make-up) needs separate, specific certification, and some countries, such as France with the CAP Esthétique Cosmétique Parfumerie, require their own national qualification to practise.

What could I do during the internship, and who finds the salon?

You find the host company yourself, for example a beauty salon, spa or clinic offering beauty services; the school then issues the internship agreement and its annex, which the company signs electronically, usually within 1–2 working days. Tasks could include reception and booking management, pre-service consultations, retail advice on skincare and sun protection, and assisting with make-up, spray tan, hair-removal or gel nail services under supervision.

Which regulations, standards and tools does the course cover?

The course covers EU cosmetics law and INCI labelling, the FDA's position on DHA in spray tanning and hydroquinone, and SPF and UV filter types. For hair removal it compares razor, wax, electrolysis and laser. The reception module refers to booking platforms such as Fresha, Treatwell and Booksy, international qualifications (CIDESCO, CIBTAC, ITEC) and the UK's ST0630 apprenticeship standard as a reference curriculum.

Will an international beauty qualification let me work anywhere in Europe?

Not on its own. A private international qualification such as CIDESCO, CIBTAC or ITEC is portable, but it does not override a destination country's national licensing rules. In France, for example, the CAP Esthétique Cosmétique Parfumerie remains mandatory to practise legally as an esthéticienne. The Wellness and Beauty course shows how to plan a cross-border job search with both questions answered: portable certification and national licence.
