- Walk a purchase from requisition to payment and locate where an invoice difference sits

Syllabus
- The in-house consultant — What an ERP does that four separate data stores cannot, what an in-house consultant does daily, and the cost of re-typing.
- The SAP product map and the 2027 deadline — Business Partner, the single journal line and SAP GUI alongside the browser interface; packages versus versions; what the maintenance date means.
- Organisational structure, master data and the Business Partner — Company code, plant and storage location, master data ownership by department, partner functions, and how one wrong field breaks downstream valuation.
- Procure-to-pay and materials management — Requisition, purchase order, goods receipt, three-way matching and blocked invoices, with what each step posts to the accounts.
- Order-to-cash and sales — How a customer call becomes a sales order with lines and delivery dates, and what does and does not happen before goods move.
- Warehouse execution: EWM and logistics — Storage types, bins, putaway and removal rules, handling units, warehouse tasks and orders, picking routes and stock differences.
- Finance in S/4HANA: FI, CO and the Universal Journal — How logistics movements such as goods issues end up in financial and controlling reports, and why posted documents cannot be deleted.
- Clean core and extensibility — Configuration, extension and modification; in-app and side-by-side extensions, released interfaces, and the cost modifications carry at each upgrade.
- The conversion project: brownfield, greenfield and data migration — Choosing a conversion route, the five steps of data migration, correction effort, cutover weekends and the back-out decision.
- Day-to-day support and the European career path — Ticket triage, support workload analysis, the change path through three systems, associate-level certification and the junior market across the EU.
Internship agreement
With this course an intern could support an ERP or IT team in a company that runs SAP, for example by triaging support tickets, checking master data records or tracing purchase and sales documents. Other suitable areas are helping with test or data-migration work in a conversion project, or working alongside purchasing, warehouse or accounts staff on process questions inside the system.
The internship can run at the same time as the course, within the 180 days of access.
Frequently asked questions
What job does ERP Management for SAP S/4HANA prepare me for, and does it include SAP certification?
ERP Management for SAP® S/4HANA prepares you for functional work inside a company that runs the system: the in-house consultant role, covering support, master data, process questions and conversion projects. It does not include the vendor's associate-level certification or any licence or access to SAP SE systems. Module 10 explains what that certification costs, what it includes, when buying it is worth it, and why certification does not replace experience.
Do I need to be able to program to work with SAP?
No. The course corrects this common belief directly. A functional consultant configures the system and translates business processes into it, and none of a junior's first tasks requires writing code; programming is a separate role. Nor is the in-house consultant the person who fixes laptops and resets passwords, which is the service desk's job. The work is about purchasing, sales, warehouse and finance processes inside the system.
Which SAP areas and methods does the course actually cover?
It covers organisational structure and master data including the Business Partner, procure-to-pay with three-way matching, order-to-cash, warehouse execution with EWM (bins, handling units, warehouse tasks), finance with FI, CO and the Universal Journal, clean core and extensibility, brownfield and greenfield conversion with data migration and cutover, and day-to-day support covering ticket triage and the change path through three systems.
What could I do during the internship, and who finds the company?
You find the host company yourself; the school issues the internship agreement and its annex, and the company signs electronically, usually within one to two working days. Suitable tasks include sorting support tickets into defects, training gaps and change requests, checking master data, tracing purchase-to-payment or sales documents, and helping with test or migration work on an S/4HANA conversion.
